How to Review Your Cloud Service Provider

How to Review Your Cloud Service Provider

Planning to outsource your business requirements to a Cloud Service Provider? Or perhaps you are considering a move from one provider to another. In either case, here’s a checklist to help you determine if the CSP in question is right for you:

1. Monitor your resource usage

Review your current cloud environment to determine whether assets need to be added or removed. A good Cloud Service Provider will let you know if your servers are overloaded, and suggest ways to achieve cost efficiencies.

2. Update to the latest security practices

You don’t need to be reminded of the security updates a cloud platform requires. However, to analyze whether your CSP is keeping up to date or not, you might want to check the monthly reports, and host audits. Also, don't forget to review the security guarantees they provided at the start of the agreement to ensure they are being maintained.

3. Keep up with compliance

Make sure your CSP has a competent team of security and compliance experts on board to ensure the right standards have been set in place for your business and support during compliance audits.

4. Seamless support experience

Outsourcing your business needs to a CSP means they should provide access to 24*7 support through specialists. If you aren't experiencing such provisions, it maybe time to consider a new CSP.

5. Solutions addressing future plans

When your business expands, you might need to switch to a better, more flexible and compliant platform, like that of a cloud desktop. So before signing onto a new CSP, make sure the SLA (service Level Agreement) includes plans for expansion and change without penalizing you, the customer.

6. Detailed and straightforward invoicing

One of the most common complaints we come across from businesses is that their CSP's invoices are overly complex and contain hidden costs. A good CSP will provide customers with invoices that reflect the exact service usage and/or taxes without hidden costs. Whether you are first-time CSP customer or planning to switch from one CSP to other, Kleio is here to help. Write to us at hello@kleiotechnology.com to help you assess your Cloud Service Provider.
